Since this is my very first robot vacuum, I was really curious to see if the mopping feature was going to be sufficient for my needs. I also wanted to see how it would perform, if it cleans well or if it was just going to drag a wet rag around the floor. I usually do a pretty good job keeping my hardwood floors swept, so I honestly didn't expect a huge difference. Thinking about all the time I've needed to first vacuum and then mop, it would take me a minimum of 30+ minutes doing my top floor. Add that if I were to do that every other day, the time adds up significantly over time. The V50 uses two spinning pads that press down to clean, but the real shocker was checking the base station afterward. It is simultaneously incredibly satisfying and a little embarrassing to realize how much hidden grime was still stuck to my floors. Even after first manually mopping, the robot did an additional mop and the dirty water bin was still murky! So much for my own cleaning. It proves this thing actually scrubs and uses warm water to lift the dirt instead of just smearing it around.
I have both hardwood and luxury vinyl flooring and this has done a great great job! After some time, I tested the areas that the robot mopped and wiped a damp area with a dry paper towel, and it passed the test with flying colours with very little to no dirt picked up!
Just the fact that I can set it to run daily and also mop over rooms more than once is just a great addition to my household, will keep my house cleaner consistently, and the time I am saving NOT having to do this chore will help me so much. The Mova V50 completes this task and does a wonderful job at it.
My hardwood floor is so much more shinier!
Tip: I put a little splash of multi-surface cleaner in the dirty water container. This keeps it from smelling funky over time.
