Doesn't vacuum. Just relocates dirt

Bought about a month ago to replace an older iRobot model. We've noticed that it is actually significantly worse than the older iRobot on vacuuming on vinyl. I've set the vacuum power to whatever the max setting is. Tried changing the mop/vacuum settings, no difference.
Is there something I'm missing? Or is this a quality issue?
