In today's adventure I ended up with a pretty annoying coffee spill beside my coffee station, with a bit of maple syrup involved too.
The first photo shows what the floor looked like before cleaning. There were four tiles affected: two with coffee mixed with maple syrup, one with coffee and a bit of cream, and one with just coffee. It sat there through the day, so the coffee and cream had time to dry onto the tile. The maple syrup did what maple syrup does and mostly stayed sticky.
Before starting, I also took a photo of the mop pads while they were still clean (photo #2). I wanted a proper before-and-after for the pads, not just the floor.
For the first mopping session (photo #3), I kept the MOVA V50 on normal settings. Regular warm water, regular wetness, standard cleaning path, and no extra pass. I didn’t want to tweak anything right away, because I wanted to see what the regular settings would do first.
After that first run (photo #4), the result was decent but not perfect. The V50 removed a good amount of the mess, but there were still dried up coffee marks visible on the tiles. Honestly, with dried coffee and sticky maple syrup, I would have been more surprised if one basic pass had removed everything.
The mop pads were interesting too (photo #5). After cleaning the floor, they had a slight coffee tint before going back to the dock. After the dock washed them with hot water, they looked clean again, basically back to how they looked before the cleanup.
For the second run (photo #6), I increased the wetness to the max and switched to the deeper clean path. That made a clear difference. Most of what was left came off, but there was still one coffee spot hanging on.
For the final run (photo #7), I went back to regular wetness but changed the setting to two regular passes. That made the robot clean in one direction first, then again side to side. By the end of that session, the last spot was gone and the floor looked like new again.
The main thing I took from this cleanup is that the mopping settings are worth adjusting when the mess is dried or sticky. The regular settings handled a good part of it, but changing the wetness, cleaning path, or number of passes made the difference.
And for the last photo, my cat stopped by the dock for a quick inspection and gave the MOVA V50 his paw-fessional approval.
Disclosure: MOVA provided me with the V50 Ultra Complete as part of their trial program. The photos and opinions are my own. #sponsored
